Mental Health Awareness

We've been doing some work at the Club to promote mental health awareness, some of the resources available and the support available within the Club. We are fortunate to have a number of trained Mental Health First Aiders and athletes are very welcome to contact them.

Please see our flyer here: userfiles/file/shane/KTH%20Mental%20Health%20Awareness%20(003).pdf

Coincidentally KTH junior member Daisy Robinson has also been busy so we thought we'd take the opportunity to share her plan on our Club Facebook page.

Daisy decided to lose her "lockdown locks" by shaving her head in aid of charity. Daisy's chosen charity is 'Rethink Mental Illness'. Following our relaxing yoga session at the track on Saturday Daisy took the plunge! If you like to donate to this great cause, you can find the link below.

Daisy Robinson sacrificing her locks to raise money for Rethink Mental Illness

Daisy explained why she wanted to do this, saying "Rethink mental illness is all about acting as a support system for people who are struggling, and it is run by people who have had personal experiences with mental illness. I’ve chosen this charity because now more than ever people need support, as lockdown has isolated so many people and thrown them completely out of normality, which can be so difficult to cope with. So I’m hoping that raising some money, through shaving my head, could help them reach more people that need it the most."
