Liverpool UK Cross Challenge.

There were some fantastic performances from the Harriers at the UK Cross Challenge at Liverpool, round 3 of the UK’s most competitive Cross Country race series. A week of wet weather in the northwest had taken its toll with conditions very wet under foot adding to the challenge.

Fynn Batkin in his second outing in the series was the top performer for the Harriers on the day with a fantastic run to finish in 17th place in the U17Men’s race over 5.5km in 18:48 to follow up on the 16th place he set in Milton Keynes.

U15 Dylan Bowley also enjoyed a terrific run to finish 21st out of the 149 athletes over the 3km course in 10:24 to ensure he remains in a prominent position in the series in 6th place overall.

U17 Emily Williams who has yet to hit top form found the going hard in the wet conditions but finished in a fine 26th place over the 4.2km course in 17:23, and U13 Harriett Round enjoyed a great start to her XC season after a number of months off with injury finishing in a fine 38th place out of the 147 athletes, and promise of much more to come.

Final Harrier in action was U20 Jack Hope, making the long trip up from Cardiff where he is studying Sports Science, running well for 73rd in the U20 men's race over the tough 6.7km course.
